10 Days to Halloween

These films tend to creep up on your subconscious whilst you perform any sort of menial task. This page is dedicated to my top 10 films to watch during the run up to Halloween. These 10 were from 2012. Short descriptions and smaller text is just creepily fascinating... see what I did there? No? Ok then... Anyways, here is a small page dedicated to these films.

10 Days to Halloween - The Mummy - 2012

A look at a cult classic in the Universal monster series
of films. This Mummy film is the original starring
Boris Karloff and not that fancy Brendan Fraiser
one that came out a while ago.

10 Days to Halloween - Frankenstein - 2012

A look at another Boris Karloff film. This one being
Frankenstein. This is an immense film, a real jewel
in the horror genre. If you haven't watched this film
then get reading this post on why you should watch it.

10 Days to Halloween - Dracula - 2012

A look at the Lugosi Dracula film. The original
in vampire films. There's none of this sparkly,
lovey-dovey nonsense here. This a brutal and
chilling film. Check out my post on why you
should watch this film.

10 Days to Halloween - Psycho - 2012

The original in the slasher genre of horror films.
Psycho is a strange mix of controversial terror
and chilling atmosphere with a ton of extra scare
thrown in for good measure. Check out this post
on why you should watch it.

10 Days to Halloween - The Shining - 1980

Stephen King's The Shining bought to the big screen
in and intense and visceral way. This is a must watch
and if you haven't watched it, then what are you doing here?
Go watch it!

10 Days to Halloween - The Silence of the Lambs - 2012

A look at the original Hannibal film, The Silence of the Lambs.
This is definitely a must watch, although not technically a horror
film, this thriller is incredibly creepy and chilling and it tends to
grasp the watcher with it's ghastly claws and keeps them from tearing
their eyes away from the screen for a moment.
A definite watch for sure.

10 Days to Halloween - A Nightmare on Elm Street- 2012

A real staple in the slasher sub genre of horror films.
A Nightmare Before Chirst... A Nightmare on Elm Street
will literally scare you so badly that you will never sleep properly again.
Always thinking that Freddy will come out of nowhere and decimate you
in your dreams. This film is definitely worth a watch just for the stellar job t
hat Robert Englund does of portraying this charred psychopath.

10 Days to Halloween - The Devil's Rejects - 2012

Ah, Rob Zombie's epic homage to everything horror.
The Devil's Rejects really shows you what common
American psychopathic and murderous families will
do when confronted by the police. I mean come on
this film is just and intense hell ride of classic B movie
style horror, another must watch film.

10 Days to Halloween - Shaun of the Dead - 2012

Shaun of the Dead, Britain's satirical take on the
zombie apocalypse. Simon Pegg and Nick Frost
do an epic job of creating terrifying moments
coupled with hilarious British humour and some
genuinely heartbreaking moments, another must watch.

10 Days to Halloween - Halloween - 2012

The final post in this category, another staple in
the slasher sub genre bible. Halloween is an
immense film filled with mystery, horror, gore,
death and every tiny creepy and sinister thing
that you could think of. Halloween really sets
the tone for the sub genre of horror that is the
slasher genre. I wont go into more detail here
just read the damn post! Thank you.
